Wrapping Up the First Kick-Off of the Season

As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on what has been an exciting and inspiring kick-off to the season at Gavin Schneider Productions.
One of the highlights of this early momentum has been the return of familiar clients. Working with teams who know and trust Cape Town as a production destination gives us the freedom to push creative boundaries, particularly regarding locations. Each brief becomes an opportunity to revisit well-loved spaces with fresh eyes and explore locations we may not have worked with in some time.
Cape Town continues to deliver. The sheer variety of locations remains unmatched and never fails to surprise us. Within a short period, productions can move between coastal backdrops, urban settings, winelands, and dramatic natural landscapes, offering an incredible level of versatility.
Recently, we had the pleasure of returning to locations we had not visited in a while, each offering something entirely different. These include the vast, awe-inspiring landscapes of Du Kloof, with its expansive mountain ranges and raw natural beauty, and the iconic Paarl Taal Monument. The monument is even more impressive in person; its bold concrete forms, striking lines, and ever-changing shadows create a powerful visual language that elevates any production.
While the summer heat can sometimes be intense, moments like these remind us why it is always worth it. Moving from towering mountain scapes one day to sculptural architectural landmarks the next, all within easy reach of Cape Town, reinforces just how extraordinary this region is. The ability to cover multiple scenarios within a tight production schedule remains one of Cape Town’s greatest strengths.
As the city buzzes with end-of-year energy, we are taking a short pause to reflect, recharge, and reset over the festive season. It has been a full and rewarding start, and we look forward to welcoming new teams and fresh projects in early January.
To our clients, partners, and collaborators - thank you for an incredible year. We wish you a joyful festive season and a very happy 2026. May the year ahead be filled with inspiring collaborations, trips to Cape Town, and many wonderful productions created together.
Looking ahead to 2026, we would love to collaborate. If you are planning a production in Cape Town, reach out to our team - we look forward to working with you.
